To empower marginalised girls through netball.
We are committed to tackling the root causes of gender inequality and promoting inclusion, so every girl, no matter her background, has the chance to reach her full potential on and off the court.
Our Why
At Confident Girls Foundation, we believe every girl deserves the chance to thrive. Through the power of netball, we support girls and young women aged 5 to 30, particularly those in remote, rural and marginalised communities, to build confidence, resilience and leadership.
Netball is more than a game. It is a way to connect, belong and grow, and a powerful pathway to empowerment and opportunity. That is why we work alongside grassroots and community organisations to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and create safe, supportive spaces where girls can be the best version of themselves.
Sustaining and Growing the Marie Little Shield
The Marie Little Shield is Netball Australia’s national tournament for women and girls with intellectual disabilities. For many athletes, it is more than a competition — it’s the moment they pull on their state colours, feel proud of who they are and experience the joy of belonging to a team.
Our Focus
Confident Girls Foundation is committed to supporting the ongoing delivery of the Marie Little Shield, while also helping to grow opportunities for athletes to participate, develop confidence and thrive, on and off the court.
How Your Support Helps
Funds raised through Sheridan’s Big Night Out contribute towards the $75,000 annual investment required to deliver the tournament and strengthen its future. This support helps ensure athletes can continue to compete on a national stage, build friendships, and access experiences that create confidence and connection well beyond the court.
Honouring Sheridan's Legacy
Sheridan dedicated her life to netball. She built confidence in others, mentored girls and women, and created spaces where people felt like they belonged. Partnering with us to support the Marie Little Shield is a meaningful way to honour everything Shez stood for.
